Step 1 Introduction
Show the students a fragment of the Discovery Channel documentary series 'Women who kill'. Select a scene in which a wife plans to murder to murder her partner.

Step 2 Discussion
Have discussion in class about female murderers. Examples?

Step 3 Story
Read the story through an audio CD, preferably with background noises.

Step 4 Keywords
Write keywords: climax, turning point, suspense, ......
Give examples, mention lines. Explain literary terms.

Step 5 Follow up assignments. To hand in next time.

2. Write an eulogy for the husband.
3. Continue the story.

6-8 Black Men:
Title -> what do you think it is about? (5 minutes)
Read until they have found the answer and stop when you've found the answer. (cross your arms)

Different assignments
1. imagine you're Oscar. How would you explain the difference between Santa Claus and Sinterklaas to an American.
2. Describe the differences between S&S in a venn diagram.
3. Think of an imaginary country. Describe their customs.
4. Write a short one-page play. in which Santa Claus and Sinterklaas meet.
5. Stereotypes. What do you think foreigners think about the Dutch. Describe a stereotypical Dutchman or American.
The groups present their results.

The students read the rest of the story at home.

The second lesson starts with whether or not the students think the story is funny. Perspective -> What do you think Americans think of this story? Why do they think it's funny?

Irony -> find examples of irony in the text.

Think about the differences between the story and the actual event.
